Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has told MTV the below about steroids:
“Me and my buddies tried it back in the day when I was 18 or 19. Didn’t know what we were doing.”
“But we have to recognize that a culture was created where it was OK to do that, and a lot of team managers, owners, players who didn’t do it would turn the other cheek. We recognize that, and now we have to institute stronger penalties, which we are doing.”
“A-Rod is an example of a lot of guys — and women, for that matter — of that era in all athletics.”
I’ll be interested to see how this shakes out. The Rock has nothing but charisma, whereas A-Rod doesn’t. The Rock has a children’s movie coming out. Will there be outrage, or will it just pass by.
I’m no expert but looking at his physique during the WWE days it would not surprise me to find out if he tried it after he was 19.
Will Dwayne get a free pass?
Dwayne wasn’t even in pro wrestling when he experimented with steroids
Good point. I’ll counter with – is it cool to do steroids before you turn pro? Should college baseball players take them to juice their stats?
Honestly in WWE, the Rock didn’t have a steroid body, he actually had a little baby fat on him.
