New York Mets Black Uniforms With Gray Undershirts?

Maybe I just haven’t been paying attention – but the gray undershirts kept catching my eye tonight?

Are these new?

This picture of Garth Brooks and Mike Piazza is from 2000….black undershirt

Edgardo Alfonzo also had black.

Maybe the Mets have been wearing them for 8 years and I just never noticed.  I avert my eyes when they wear black.

Anyone know?

Unrelated:  Cow-Bell man needs to be kicked out of the stadium or SNY needs to just air the game without a crowd mike.  Enough with the conk-conk-conk.   It’s a ripoff of Freddy Sez (Yankees) so tell Cow-Bell man to stay home.

Sparks has left a new comment on your post “New York Mets Black Uniforms With Gray Undershirts…“:

They’ve had gray-chested undershirts for a while. Here’s a photo of the locker room celebration when the Mets won the 2006 NLDS:

Not sure if it was true back then, but this year’s version is a MLB-wide standard:

Also, sometime during the late Valentine era, the Mets also had two-color undershirts, either with a colored upper torso and a gray lower torso or vice versa. I can’t find any photos of that, but distinctly remember seeing them.
