How about this one that Osh41 dug up? Osh is a Mets Policeman and the guy who won the Mets trivia contest at Two Boots the other night so after months of being dead weight he’s having a good week.
Casey wanted us to have “swoosh jerseys” as Osh calls them.
So does that make the underline Mets jersey they wore for one year in the 90’s (can’t find a picture right now, someone send it to me) less of an abomination?

No.
Here's the home jersey modeled by the quintessential Met of 1993, Anthony Young:

The underlining swoop alone was bad enough, but if you look closely, they also distorted the "M" somewhat. It looks a mile away from the "ets" when compared to the usual design.
Here's the road version, of which I'm actually rather fond even though the 3-color sleeve striping is a little to 1970s/early '80s for the rest of it:

you'll notice also that the prototype is pinless and has 2 color (presumably orange & blue) stirrups
LI Phil, If by "pinless" you mean the prototype doesn't have pinstripes…you're wrong. Take a closer look, or maybe put on your glasses. The pinstripes are there.
