Just listening to Francesa on WFAN. He’s reporting that:
- K-Rod was taken from CitiField this afternoon at 2 pm to be arraigned
- His fiancee’s father and mother were both taken to the hospital last night, the mother suffering from chest pains
- The fiancee’s father is pressing charges
- The fiancee has gotten an order of protection against K-Rod – he will not be allowed into his own house without a police presence
Of all of these updates, the last one is most disturbing. A scuffle or a family disagreement is one thing. A court order of protection takes this to a whole new level.
Also, during the game Kevin Burkhart reported that several children of players that witnessed the attack.
I’m thinking that this isn’t all Francisco’s fault, but I suppose we’ll see. I’ll reserve judgement until i hear facts.
If this was the first incident of Rodriguez loosing his temper than I would agree with you. However given his long history of letting his emotions get the better of him – where there’s smoke there’s fire
That’s why I said “All” I’m sure he’s still mostly to blame, but this doesn’t seem like it’s out of thin air if they’re pressing charges and getting an order of protection. Makes me wonder why they were at Citi Field to begin with. Seems a quick turn around to go from future son in law to order of protection and pressing charges.
You always did want the Mets to wear stripes more..
Ha! But I want Blue pinstripes
The order of protection is always issued after a fmaily offense arrest. It is usually temporary, just to let cooler heads prevail for the time being. This could be a different case, but for the most part it’s just a formality.
I did hear Wayne Hagin say during the game while talking about this that he saw 2 different people taken away on stretchers into 2 different ambulances that went into 2 different directions. He’s a much more credible source than Fatcessa.
I had heard (or read?) that NY state law dictates charges to be pressed because it was a family matter, and the order of protection may go along with that.
hearing that children were witness isn’t good at all.
Sounds like “witnesses” might have been stretching it. The “official” report seems to suggest that they went out in the hallway.
