Well, I think it will be pretty awesome watching Ollie in Game 4, and I look forward to seeing the Rangers lose to the Islanders on January 1st. Larry Brooks disagrees….
The Mets have a better chance of Oliver Perez throwing a three-hit shutout to win the World Series than they do of getting the NHL to award the Winter Classic to Citi Field.
Brooks presents it with no fact or source or anything, so I suspect it’s just a dig.
it’s a dig, but the NHL wants Yankee Stadium or New Meadowlands Stadium before Citi Field, and there is so much politics involved in bringing the outdoor game to this area because of all the local teams and venues.
Citi is the nicest of the three. Let them have what they want.
I think the NHL might go for Citi Field to see what kind of draw they get to test the waters of possible move of Islanders to Flushing. Wang is even saying he wants to either move to Queens or Suffolk.
The draw will be exactly the same as it is in Nassau. People don’t come to see a new arena, they come to see a winning team. Haven’t the Mets already proven that with their trainwreck?
Lets try to get a team that plays baseball right before we venture to another sport!
Citi Field hosting the Fall Classic is the announcement I’m waiting on.
