Chris Swann who help us out over at SPORTSPOLICE, is a season ticket holder for the Mets and went to the MVP Perks event held at Citi Field
Chris sent over some pics (that I put into video form) and also gave his thoughts on the event. Here’s Chris:
VERY good job by the Mets. I was very impressed with how warm and open all the players were, as well as Sandy and Terry. The food was good and of course the bar was open for free.
The players were very dedicated and fun to be around, even after two straight days of public appearances. Sandy definitely knows what he is doing, or at least he sounds like he does. His answers are very long to basically every question, so you forget what the initial question was; however, he makes you believe that he knows what he is talking about.
Jose was just like his old self fun, laughing, and engaging. Thole … same as Jose. He looks genuinely happy and appreciative of his place with the team and had a constant smile on his face.
Sandy believes that a team cannot simply build around their ballpark. While they will be fast and play defense, he noted that the dimensions on the infield are the same throughout baseball and thus, defense is not just an idea to be geared around the Citi outfield.
