Times: Mets ticket panic

According to The Times, Mets ticket sales are not going well.

The article uses the word “panic”, says ticket office folks were “let go”, usual part-timers not brought in, and that the head of ticket sales has been replaced which I guess is/was “known” but it never registered in my brain.

It’s a very interesting read and I’m unclear how to reconcile it with the word “gangbusters” that was reportedly attributed to Dave Howard on ticket sales.

I had a ball at Digital Domain on Saturday. I’m in the best mood I have been in (in general, not just Mets) in a long time. A great great day.

The plan for today is Mets at Braves. Like yesterday I will post lots of random pictures in my usual quirky style.

Scroll down the posts and pages for a recap of Saturday.

I have taken about 400 pics and videos so far. Those will get processed when I get back.

Someone did a nice favor for me yesterday. You know who you are and what you did – thanks!

  1. Let’s put it this way, The NY Times has reputation for being Picard’s mouthpiece. And if you ask me, in my opinion, The NY Times is making effort to bring the Wilpons down. Several of their writers seem very vested in it, sometimes on daily basis, writing what appears to be very slanted articles that make the Wilpons look bad.

  2. I dunno, I think the Wilpons have done a pretty good job to bring themselves down without the help of anyone else.

  3. A 5 to 5 tie yesterday!…There are no ties in baseball….Unless its the All Star game!

It was great to be at the ballpark yesterday. The weather was perfect and what a fun day it was with the game being somewhat exciting.

    Lets Go Mets!

  4. So let’s see… the Times has it in for the Mets, and David Howard has a vested interest in putting the best possible spin on things.

Looking at the available evidence (i.e. the Flex plans), I believe that ticket sales aren’t where the Mets hoped that they would be. But I doubt it’s quite as gloomy as the Times is making it seem.

  5. Ticket sales are a reflection of team expectations. The sentiment in PSL and at the game yesterday is a hope for 4th place and around .500.

How can you expect fans to spend their hard earned money when ownership is not spending any!

This is New York people and just being average dosen’t cut it!
