My coffee hasn’t kicked in yet so just read the Newsday article (no paywall) about the Mets offering some seats to April weeknight games to some fans for 50% off.
I have no problem with it – nor should you. We’re the same people who will be saying they should sell tickets for a dollar in September to get fannies in the seats.
Tip of the Blue Cap to Adam Rubin’s awesome morning news roundup.
Club Mets included. Haven’t looked that carefully at it, but if it’s cheaper than stubhub (or Mets police tix or whatever) I’ll probably take them up on it. Want tocheck out the beer selection in some of the club levels.
I’m glad the Mets are doing this.
However, I’ve been at CitiField 3 of the past 4 days… after watching the last two disappointing losses, I don’t think the promise of free tickets could get me back out there during this homestand. 🙁
(Yes, I’ll still be watching on TV & going to one of the weekend games against the D-backs later this month.)
Yes, this was a Club Mets offer. I’m also looking into purchasing a ticket in the field level sections, as part of the offer, which look like a good deal.
The bigger question is when the meta will give loyal season ticket holders a refund for all the games that they could have waited and got for half off.
They got 10% of all tickets.
