Stark: Mets discussing moving fences in at Citi Field?

 

A fascinating rumor that’s been rippling through the Mets’ clubhouse lately has the team finally getting ready to move in the fences at Citi Field.

Stark goes on to add that there doesn’t seem to be much traction to it.

When I was in the park Saturday I was looking at the fence and the 17,000 angles.  Seems silly.  Just have a more or less normal fence.

  1. I like the dimensions. It favors batters who can find the alleys, and fielders with good range. You know when a ball goes out it was a shot. The only thing that annoys me are the home runs that die in the Mo Zone.

  2. heh. first off, the Mets are hitting home runs in the park.

    second, no discussion to move in fences is going to begin or end in the clubhouse.

    third, it won’t happen in May, more like November.

    I like the dimensions. I have no problem with them or the fences or anything. if they want to move them, then move them. whatever.

  3. I’m not a fan of moving the fences in, they designed the park this way for a reason. What they need to do is build a team that plays to the park. Everyone else has band boxes, if the Mets build a team that can pitch, play D and manufacture runs they’ll be fine. Home runs are great but triples and doubles are just as exciting.

  4. I recommend.

    1) remove the mo zone, because it is ludicrous
    2) either lower the wall to the orange lines, or get rid of the lines. they are likewise, ludicrous

    1. I like the Great Wall of Flushing, can’t see them chopping the apple wall, apple would be exposed at all times(or major construction to lower/move the apple).
      I hate, hate, the lowered orange line in center/right center. The wall should be the wall. (I can live with a line bisecting the apple wall)

PLEASE BRING IN THE FENCES,LOWER THE WALLS & GET RID OF THAT DISGUSTING BROWN/GREENISH COLOR OUT FIELD WALLS & MAKE THEN THAT CLASSIC MET ROYAL BLUE.SHEA STADIUM WAS THE METS ANS THE METS WERE SHEA STADIUM.WHAT COLOR WAS SHEA? THEREFORE THE SHEA BRIDGE SHOULD BE THE COLOR OF SHEA STADIUM.MAKE THE FEILD MORE ATTRACTIVE TO FANS & INVITING FOR POTENTIAL FREE AGENTS
