Woohoo, I was browsing my iCopy of ESPN Magazine where they rank all the sports franchises.
Want to guess who finished #117th?
Who finished last in baseball?
Yes, the Mets.
The good news? The Mets beat out the Timberwolves.
The bad news? They finished two behind the Atlanta Thrashers.
When you’re….
…you know where I’m going with this.
Oh noes! A totally made up list has the Mets at the bottom!
Screw Them.
What a unique point of view to rip the mets as the worst franchise in baseball!
Of course i have not actually read this article, but for comparison’s sake, I’d like to point out a couple of other, more pathetic franchises:
Anaheim Angels: Despite playing in the #2 media market and playing in a four team division since the most recent realignment, they have one world series appearance in their 50 years. For comparison, they also have an owner that runs his mouth, and rarely backs it up.
Pittsburgh Pirates: And we hate our ownership?
KC Royals: Contract them already.
Cleveland: I mean…seriously? I know they have a lot of nostalgia going for them, but they don’t go down as worse then the mets?
I could keep going, but as a mets fan, I do feel kinda bad picking on the bad teams.
