And contest aside, don’t forget to actually vote Reyes on this All Star Ballot.  Vote for all the Mets.  Even Emaus – because that would be funny.

For clarity sake: Metspolice.com is not holding a meet and greet contest of any kind.  The Mets are.  I’m just telling you about their contest.

  1. Voted (multiple times) for Reyes, but will not be watching the All Star Game this year or, I rather doubt, ever again. As a die-hard, venom-spitting hater of the DH I make it a point to avoid watching games that include it. Oh, in the past I stomached watching every other year when the venue for the game was hosted by an American League team. But since MLB took the unwise decision last year to dictate that ALL future All Star Games would include the DH irrespective of the venue they lost me as someone who will be watching. Truly, they would have been better served to expand the All Star Game rosters to allow more players and do away with the DH for all the games. This would have allowed them to not have the pitcher bat (as if that were actually a problem), while at the same time not doing away with the strategic aspects of the game (i.e. double-switch, etc.).
Nope, I’m not watching (if there is anything worth seeing ESPN will show it in the highlights anyhow), either this year or even when it is at Citi. Selig strikes again.
