Mets Citi Field entertainment survey

Select Mets fans have gotten a survey asking about the entertainment at Citi Field.

Shall we?

First we find out if you’re a Mets fan, if you have a ticket plan and where you sit. Then..(click and then hit Control-plus for bigger version)…do you like the music and stats..is the Party Patrol entertaining and is the music too loud

This one asks How important are…music, detailed stats, on field ceremonies, scoreboard segments featuring players, scoreboard segments featuring fans.  The next one compares those to other sporting events, then you’re asked how entertaining those are.

Then some interesting slides. Would you like organ music 100% of them time! Oh if only you people understood how wonderful things could be and would vote for that.

Also, someone courageously asks the God Bless America question. My take is that because it’s overdone (not so much in Queens, but in the Bronx) it loses any impact.

This next one got me thinking….Rate the “entertainment level” of Mr. Met

Mr. Met really isn’t very entertaining is he? He never comes by my section. Waving his arms and throwing t-shirts to people in $300 seats doesn’t cut it

We then finish out with some demographic questions – income, residence, sex, marital status etc

I like this survey, it shows the Mets are trying to give the fans what they want, which is the mission of this blog. Good job.

  1. I don’t mind piped in music..BUT TURN IT DOWN A LITTLE.I would tear down mini-ebbets field and rebuild Shea,but I’m a dreamer.

    1. Tom try clicking on them and zooming in. There’s nothing too exciting its just “entertaining” “somewhat entertaining” etc

I don’t link to the survey because I assume the Mets sent it to who they wanted to.

  2. God Bless America has no place at a baseball stadium or any secular event really.

    I never get these surveys.

  3. I got the survey and was glad for the opportunity to vent.
    Answered one question as follows:

The music and nonsense between innings seems directed towards
the most casual, inattentive fans. The sound effects guy DURING
innings should be locked out of the stadium, never to return.
He kills spontaneous genuine fan reaction. The minute he hears
a REAL “Let’s Go Met’s” chant start, his hand goes to the “Boom
Boom Smash” button. When a REAL “Jose” chant starts, he goes for
the recorded (in the wrong key) “Jose” song button. It stifles
real Mets fans and the only people that seem entertained by it
are the twice a year – I like the hamburgers crowd. If that’s
your target audience, your’re doing a great job.

  4. As long as I’m in bellyaching mode, I can’t stand
“Takin’ Care of Business” being played when they
win. It’s over. Willie Randolph and Carlos Delgado
are gone. I don’t want to be reminded of that era.

    1. Ser-biz. Whey don’t they just play “Meet the Mets” when they win?

The only person who should be allowed to make sound effects is Cow-Bell Man. I don’t ever want to hear “Put Me In Coach,” “Cha Cha Slide” or that thing where everybody goes “WOOO!” There’s nothing wrong with a few quiet moments in between flights out of LGA. If we want noise we’ll make some.

  5. I got that survey last month. I answered it because I wanted to see what it was asking. Alot of my answers were neutral because I don’t care about the between innings entertainment, Mr. Met or anything else that goes on between innings, except the 7th inning stretch and Lazy Mary. I do wish they’d make a better effort to get t-shirts to the real fans who sit in the 400 and 500 seats. Other than that, I don’t care. I go to the game to see the game.

  6. I actually filled out an Aramark survey in the past. Gave them a few comments as well.
