Wow, I don’t know when I will get THREE HOURS to watch this but, here’s a three hour video of the 1983 Mets (that team has Seaver, Hernandez and Strawberry).
Go 45 minutes in to see Darryl go deep, in a blue uniform. If you scroll through you can also find a young(er) Chris Berman and Uncle Floyd
If someone watches all of this, I’d love to know if the Mets wore blue at home during a game…I say no.
I’m almost an hour into this over a 2 day period and I have to say this is a gr8 memory piece ! Nothing better than to watch the origin of how this franchise began to turn the corner during the latter part of what was a forgetful season.
I watched all of it, skipping parts as necessary…two takeaways:
1) Rusty was some awesome pinh hitter…what a weapon. Is there anyone in baseball today like him? Why not?
2) Darryl Strawberry was such a humble kid that first year…him not being a sure ballot Hall of Famer is a shame. A bigger waste of talent than Doc in my opinion.
