Pete Flynn the Mets head groundskeeper for 50 years was honored prior to today’s game. Today is Pete’s last game and he was presented with jerseys from the Mets and Jets. Tom Seaver had a video message to Pete calling him one of his best friends around here
Pete also threw out the first pitch and was then congratulated by the entire team
I will take this opportunity to apologize to Pete as I was one of those ungrateful fans that stormed the field in 1986 when the Mets clinched. Sorry for ripping up your field Pete
