The Many Colors of Mets Caps

Even the ice cream sundae caps color scheme isn’t consistent.  If you look closely, those two plain blue caps are different color blues.   There is also a brighter blue cap that’s not pictured here, but it’s a pretty common one and I’m surprised I couldn’t find one in my place anywhere.

  1. Yes!!! Finally someone is discussing this inconsistency! I just recently purchased a 1969 WS patch Mets fitted that is beautifully shaded in true Royal Blue. (Will send in the photos today!) Its so different from what the Mets currently wear on the field now, which is a bright shade of blue that is more like a light royal blue and not consistent with what the Mets used to wear in the 60s. Since the team is reverting to the 1960’s uni next year, could they please make an effort to not ignore the cap as well? Get rid of the orange button and darken that blue to reflect the color that the Dodgers and Royals currently have. Then all things, along with getting rid of the hybrid and the black, will be right with the universe.

    1. The color has changed over the years from time to time…probably a matter of different manufacturers vs. a concerted effort to have different looks.

Whatever this guy wore for the most part would be the color I’d go with.
