As I’ve mentioned before, all the Giants blogs love Anres Torres. As i read about him I think I’m gonna like him too.
“I admire Reyes. He’s one of the best, (most) exciting players in the game,” Torres said. “I’m working hard to be an exciting player, too. I just want to go there, to New York, bring energy and get the team pumped and do my best.”
…
“I keep the clubhouse loose,” he said. “We just have to feel comfortable about everything in the clubhouse, just go up there and have fun.”
Winning a few baseball games might help him also. How come he doesn’t mention that.
I guess being traded to a last place team must be fun!
The Mets didn’t finish last last year. Actually, the Marlins did.
as long as he produces on the field, fans won’t care if e is Bobby Bo off of it!
Torres seems to have the right personality for this media market and as long as he plays competently he’ll be OK. I’m not worried about him. I’m worried about the quality and depth of the starting pitching. Wherever the Mets finish in the NL East in 2012 is going to be much more about the pitching than it is about Torres and I hope my fellow Mets fans realize that and treat Torres fairly. He may be the lead off hitter but it’s not his fault he’s replacing Jose Reyes in that spot. I won’t be holding him accountable for that.
One minor problem…he’ll be 34 before he plays one inning in Flushing. We might love him, but he won’t be here more than 2 or 3 years.
