Matt Lawton was a Met from July 30th 2011 until October 7th 2011. He was acquired for pitcher Rick Reed and put up a .718 OPS in his couple of months with the Mets, but someone apparently liked him enough to get a customized jersey.

Dunt have the MLB logo on back of neck AND I actually saw this guy on Opening Day! We came in the LF gate together and he was in front of me. I commented on the Lawton jersey, and the group he was with busted his chops! I think it might be his surname as he sorta played down the Matt Lawton reference….
that was my first thought. Still funny though. Yeah, this was taken Opening Day.
Yeah he got it in the team store on the rack with all the ex-player jerseys. Probably real cheap too. I d’ guess $40.00 bucks or so. Not bad for a real , game worn jersey.
