The conference will include talks by baseball and cultural historians, sportswriters, statisticians, biographers and bloggers. Besides Mr. Charles, who will participate in a question-and-answer session on April 27, former players like Bud Harrelson and Rusty Staub will be on hand. There will also be an array of authors who have written about the Mets, and talks by members of the print and electronic news media who have covered them.
