THIS THURSDAY, MAY 17 AT CITI FIELD
PIX11 Weather Experts Mr. G and Linda Church to Provide Meteorology Lesson for 8,000 Tri-State Area Students Prior to Mets-Reds Game
FLUSHING, N.Y., May 14, 2012 – The New York Mets and PIX11 will host the seventh annual Weather Education Day this Thursday, May 17 at Citi Field for 8,000 students from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut prior to the Mets playing the Cincinnati Reds at 1:10 p.m.
Students will be treated to a pre-game meteorology lesson by PIX11 weather experts Mr. G and Linda Church, who will engage them in an interactive program about weather patterns and phenomena and take students behind the scenes at the PIX11 weather center.
Mr. Met and the Pepsi MAX Party Patrol will also be on hand to entertain students and shoot t-shirts into the crowd. At the conclusion of program, the students will stay at the ballpark to watch the game.
As part of Weather Education Day, Linda Church will also be delivering the forecast for PIX11 Morning News from Citi Field beginning at 6:00 a.m.
The Mets do some great things…but since this site allows us to call them out…and I know they read it…I recently called the Mets and left a message for Community Outreach. In the past they have donated tickets to some kids I work with. I asked them in the message if they could accomodate some kids for this game. Never received a call back. Their service is very hit or miss.
I would try DMing some of the ticket reps on twitter
all so transparently self-serving and desperate
Wait why are we mad? Because the Mets are hosting a “field trip” for kids? Really?
