Sometimes my Lee Mazzilli google alert catches the most interesting things

Q: Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when Thurman Munson passed away?

A: Yes I do. I was at home and watching a Mets twi-night doubleheader. Lee Mazzilli was up in the first inning of the game and he steps out. I can’t remember if it was Ralph Kiner or Bob Murphy who said it, but they were reading off the scoreboard that Munson had died in a plane crash. That’s how I found out about Thurman Munson.
