Better late than never: a recap of Monday’s social media night Q&A session « Paul’s Random Baseball Stuff

An excerpt from a must-read over on Paul’s Random Baseball Stuff

In response to an audience question, Lewin talked about his typical day. From about noon to 2:30 p.m., he works on putting together material he might use for that night’s broadcast before heading over to the ballpark. He arrives around 3:15 p.m. to put his notes in order. During the winter, Lewin spends time compiling information about every team in the major leagues so he’s not starting from scratch at the beginning of every series. Once he arrives at the ballpark, Lewin talks to the players, managers, people from the public relations department, etc. Before noon and after 11 is his time.

“Being on the air is kind of like an oral exam every night. You don’t know exactly what’s going to be asked of you, but you can kind of get a sense of what’s going to be on the test,” Lewin said.
