After yesterday’s swoosh jerseys nothing could get worse for the Mets uniform wise could it? This mess became known as the “ice cream cap” and if my memory serves was worn on Sunday. Also notice the Mets have dropped pinstripes for some reason. This is terrible, surely Mets Uniforms in the 1990’s won’t get any worse than this….

They were worn only a handful of times, because they were mocked so much…haven’t found any records of when they were worn.
The only time I can remember the jersey being worn was on Jackie Robinson night. If you watch the “Shea Stadium:45 Years of Amazin” special when they talk about JRN, you can see the players with the White Caps
i have two: one which i wore to school all the time in 1997 and is more brownish than white, and one that i saved and is still actually white. guess i know what i’m wearing next time i meet up with shannon at a game!
I had one on college which got destroyed from me playing pick up hockey games while wearing it.
