Report: Keith Hernandez may shave his mustache

He announced the possibility of shaving it last week on a Mets broadcast. But Hernandez, 58, said Monday that he might simply show up for the Mets’ final game of the season, on Oct. 3, with nothing but bare skin between his nose and upper lip.

Which baseball team spent the most per win over the last 5 seasons?

The Mets have spent the most per win over the last five seasons according to Business Week.  Click on the blue for the full story.

Amazin’ video

I can’t embed video in the newsletter, but definitely check out the video attached here.  It’s a new take on a Mets song and it’s very catchy…I hope the Mets embrace it although I will wager $1 on them completely ignoring it.

Is the Mets AAA team heading to Las Vegas?

While nothing has been announced it looks like the Mets are leaving Buffalo (to be replaced by Toronto), and the speculation is the Mets will wind up in the then-vacant Las Vegas.

One thing that doesn’t sound awesome is this quote from a member of the 51’s.

“The honest truth is right now we’re in a 30-year-old stadium with no player amenities and because of that we’re going to be at a disadvantage,” Johnson said.

via 51s might switch to affiliation with Mets – Sports – ReviewJournal.com.

The big question for me is “is going to Vegas to see the AAA team a legitimate business expense?”

August 2012 Stats: Advertise for $50 a month

I expected MetsPolice.com’s August to free-fall as fans seem less engaged with the team, but for the most part the stats held up August vs July, although both are down from June.

Some day the team will be good for an entire season and we’ll see a pop.

I anticipate traffic will slowly trend down until the annual November pops when the Mets announce uniform tweaks and ticket stuff, then a flat winter until it picks up in March.

As always these are actual eyeballs.  If you’d like me to pull out the bots and spiders to impress you I can do that too.

Cool Shea themed Mets t-shirts

Speaking of advertising, Mr. The 7 line is getting a free plug here which pains me (I am a capitalist)..but these shirts are way cool.  Maybe he’ll buy me a drink in PSL.  Or pay for the lanes when we bowl.  Something.

Anyways, aren’t these cool?  And when you buy one make sure you tell him who sent you.
