Wow I am so happy I found this on Youtube. There were several games this season where I thought the cap game results were suspect, and some of us even had a twitter discussion about it.

September 27, 2012 – This was my tenth game at Citi Field this year and the fifth time I’ve seen this.: The New York Mets have regularly been lying about the outcome of the “Wise Cap Game” on the big CitiVision screen.
Watch for yourself. It ends up under Cap 3. I know it’s Cap 3. The kid knows it’s Cap 3. The whole stadium knows it’s Cap 3. But they say it’s Cap 2!
I can’t tell if the Mets are doing this as a joke or if they messed up the “answer video” that’s linked with the original game.
Sure, there are bigger issues with this team but this one has been bothering me all season!
Watch for yourself..
I knew it! Stupid Wilpons….
The Wipons’ staff, lying? Say it isn’t so.
I don’t know about the Cap Game, but I find it interesting that all of the fans who are “randomly” selected to win prizes just happen to be wearing Mets gear.
Thank you for posting this! I can’t figure out why they kept doing this.
If it’s a mistake, you’d think they’d realize it at some point (I first noticed it in early April and I shot this video at the last home game). If it’s a joke, it’s not very funny. So I don’t know what this means.
I think the person gets the same prize no matter what… but it’s still kind of weird.
In response to Gary’s comment, my dad was chosen to play “Meet the Mets” in August. We were sitting in the last row of I think Section 303 (Pepsi Porch) and a woman came over to my dad and asked if he wanted to participate. So no, it’s not “random” like a lottery, but it’s not even like we knew she was looking for someone (the camera wasn’t there yet). They’re probably told to pick Mets fans wearing Mets stuff (like most people who go to Citi Field anyway). My dad ended up winning $25 to Parts Authority (ooooohhh!!) and a gold-colored baseball commemorating Santana’s no-no.

@GSorensen
Why is this surprising? From everything I’ve read the accounting department’s been doing this for at least a decade.
I used to work for the Philadelphia 76ers, nothing is randomly picked
