Let’s start with the trailer for Oblivion.
I think that looks pretty good. Someone on-line pointed out that Cruise doesn’t disappear into roles. He is always just kind of “Tom Cruise.” I guess you could say that about Bruce Willis or Morgan Freeman or Humphrey Bogart so it isn’t the worst thing, but it makes me appreciate someone like Christian Bale. Mrs. MP took me to see The Boxer and about half an hour into the movie I realized the super skinny guy was Bruce Wayne. That’s a nice job.
I’m really into The Americans now. I think this might be the next “it” cable tv show. If you haven’t checked it out yet you are only 5 episodes behind so find a way to catch up. Like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad it sets you up to root for the bad guys. It’s a really cool show that you see through the eyes of two Russian spies in 1981. Jump on.
Go On is really growing on me even though the ratings have tanked. It is like a poor man’s Community, and with actual Community having sunk to being Poor Man’s Community, I almost like Go On as much. That being said, I fell asleep during Go On last night (DVR) and that never happens with Community.
I felt like AMC dialed down the Talking Dead promos a tad, at least the first one. This has been a good season for Walking Dead. It was nice to see the juxtaposition of how the Governor is “bad” because he is giving guns to teenagers, but meanwhile “the good guys” have no problem with Carl walking around with a gun – and Rick even said he was bringing him on the next mission. Good show, best on TV right now, and I look forward to it every week.
Over on the Star Wars front, it seems like the 1313 video game (that was the “dark” game about bounty hunters) has been postponed. And now word if we will ever see Star Wars: Detours which seems to have been made to disappear. The Detours page on Facebook hasn’t been updated since November. I guess Disney figures if anyone sees the below as the first impression of Disney Star Wars that people will lose their minds. Probably wise.
