A theme of Mad Men is that the times are changing and Don isn’t changing with them. Whereas he was the epitome of cool in 1961, come October 1969 he may be a crumbling relic from another time.
Of COURSE he is. He insults everything (and everyone) else.
Jon Hammer, the guy who plays Don Draper, is a huge Cardinals fan. I’m sure he lobbied to put in that dig at the Mets expense.
