FLUSHING, N.Y., August 17, 2013 – The New York Mets will have three bobblehead nights over a five-game span during the upcoming homestand at Citi Field.
This Friday, August 23, fans purchasing a special Social Media Night ticket for $35 at Mets.com/jaybobble will receive a bobblehead of Jay Horwitz, the Mets longtime Vice President of Media Relations and a Promenade Infield ticket while connecting with fellow Facebook and Twitter fans. A portion of the proceeds from those tickets will go towards “Hope Shines for Shannon.” Shannon Forde, who has worked for Horwitz for the last 20 years, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer last year. Third Eye Blind will also perform a postgame concert following the Mets-Tigers 7:10 p.m. that night.
The first 25,000 fans coming to the Mets-Tigers 1:10 p.m. game Sunday, August 25, will receive a Tom Seaver bobblehead courtesy of Toyota.
Mets broadcasters Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling will have a SNY bobblehead Tuesday, August 27 when the Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:10 p.m. Fans who buy a special Pepsi Porch ticket for $59 at Mets.com/GKR will receive the bobblehead and a choice of a hot dog, burger or slice of pizza and a soft drink. A portion of those tickets purchased will go to the GKR Foundation.
