About that upside down P…

Back in December, when the Mets traded R.A. Dickey for d’Arnaud, Kierst called the Blue Jay’s equipment manager to find out how they made d’Arnaud’s jerseys. The manufacturer, Majestic, does not make lower-case letters for the jerseys — just smaller capital letters. To keep true to d’Arnaud’s name, they could not use the little capital letter “D”, so they went with the upside down P.

I don’t care who blames who.  This can’t be that hard.  Someone fix it.

Thanks to @MetsOnline for the info

  1. I’m completely indifferent about the “P,” but what I don’t get is why this lowercase “d” is even a thing. Uh, hello…every other letter but the “A” is already unnecessarily capitalized. Unless they’re also going to hunt down a lower case “r,” “n,” “a,” and “u,” staying “true” to the proper capitalization is a moot point.

  2. Gotta agree, Sparks. As my sister noted to me last week, every name is in all caps when on the back of the uniform. I highly doubt it reads “Marlon BYRD” on his birth certificate.
