I will take the Mets seriously when they do.
The Mets will have enough stamina to conduct their annual postgame fantasy football draft tonight. Even injured Ike Davis flew with the team to Atlanta to take part. He then will head to the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York to get an MRI of his strained right oblique after the conclusion of the Labor Day weekend.
Fly to Atlanta. Draft a team. Fly home. Then get MRI. Got it.
In Ike’s defense, what’s an extra day going to matter at this point?
That, and it is, in fact, a holiday weekend. He wasn’t going to be getting an MRI anyhow unless that strained oblique somehow led to a brain hemorrhage.
I do want to know if the team is paying to fly him back or if he’s got to pick up that tab himself since he could’ve just stayed in town otherwise.
