Mets Add Outfielder Chris Young. Happy Now? | The John Delcos New York Mets Report

Delcos seems quite unhappy with this signing.

Actually, the best thing that could happen to the Mets is Young failing his physical to void the one-year, $7.25 million deal. You read that correctly. That’s a lot of money for a career .235 hitter with a .315 on-base percentage.

Good read.  He also seems upset about this week’s Braun discussions on the intertubes.

  1. Unless it ties into other moves or they’ve got some other outfield deals brewing, I don’t get this at all. Assuming the $30 million to spend figure that’s circulating is correct, they’ve just blown roughly 1/4th of it on getting ho-hum production out of a corner outfielder. Tell me again why’d they passed on bringing back Marlon Byrd?
