Well the Mets are starting to get more relevant performers for the concert series it seems.
FLUSHING, N.Y., December 19, 2013 – The New York Mets today announced 50 Cent will play at Citi Field Saturday, June 14 following the 4:10 p.m. Mets-Padres game. The Queens-born rapper will kick off the the 2014 Mets Concert Series presented by Duane Reade, joining previously announced post-game performers Huey Lewis and the News, and Boyz II Men on the schedule.
Tickets for post-game concerts are on sale now at Mets.com and (718) 507-TIXX. Admission to the concert is included in the price of the game ticket.
50 Cent rose to fame with the release of Get Rich or Die Tryin’ which was certified eight-times platinum. In 2009, Billboard named 50 Cent as one of the top 10 artists and rappers of the decade. He has scored four No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 including “In Da Club” and “21 Questions.”
