@dtwohig’s Mets Library #48: The Brooklyn Cyclones

Professional baseball returned to Brooklyn in 2001 when the Brooklyn Cyclones played their inaugural season in Coney Island.  That first year was unforgettable and The Brooklyn Cyclones: Hardball Dreams and the New Coney Island does a good job in capturing the excitement of that season.  What makes the book even more interesting is the underlying social commentary about the Coney Island revitalization that the team was supposed to spark (something that almost 13 years later is still a work in progress.
