@dtwohig’s Mets Library #51: Send The Beer Guy

Send The Beer Guy julyThought I wasn’t going to mention this book?  It’s the only Mets related book I’m mentioned in so of course I have to list it.

If you read this blog you know all about Send The Beer Guy.  You Don’t need me to say anything else.

So this is the last Mets related book on my shelf right now.  R.A. Dickey’s book was on the shelf but I sent it to him a year ago to have signed and never got it back.  I’ll probably add at least 6 or so this coming year.

Did I miss any you thought I might have?

Greg Prince to host panel on Why Mets History | The Queens Baseball Convention

greg princeGreg Prince to host panel on Why Mets History | The Queens Baseball Convention.

If you’re coming to the Queens Baseball Con, Swing by the Panels Room at 2pm for Why Mets History with the great Greg Prince!

Even if you didn’t personally experience 1962, 1969 or 1986, those seasons — along with the ones that are less celebrated — belong to each and every one of us. Greg Prince from Faith and Fear in Flushing speaks to what Mets history means to the Mets fan and how Mets fandom informs Mets history.

@dtwohig’s Mets Library #50: The Amazins

MetsPolice Library The AmazinsOf course for the 50th book I had to go with one of the 50th anniversary books.  The Amazins: Celebrating 50 Years of New York Mets History is the NY Post’s entry.

Say what you want about the Post, they at least have generally had a good sports section.  I expected a good book from them.  Sadly, it’s not.  When you list out the “stars” of the Mets during the 70’s and 80’s and leave out Dave Kingman, Ray Knight, Jesse Orosco and Lee Mazzilli your book is seriously lacking.
