4th Annual Fun-Run Series Makes Citi Field Debut on Winter 2014 Schedule

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 5, 2014 – The New York Mets today announced that Citi Field will host the 4th annual Ugly Sweater Run on Saturday, December 20. The Ugly Sweater Run is presented by Human Movement Management (HMM) and all runners, walkers and children are invited to celebrate the holidays by participating in the “Ugliest 5k on the Planet.”

“Ugly sweaters are uniting once again and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our 2014 national series to New York City, bringing together thousands of people to raise awareness on a very serious manner, ugly sweaters,” said Jeff Suffolk, HMM president. “Our goal for this race is to give people a well deserved break from the holiday madness and to brighten their holiday spirits.”

The Ugly Sweater Run course is approximately 3.1 miles long at Citi Field. Throughout the run, there will be holiday-themed stations at every mile with hot chocolate and other refreshments. After crossing the finish line, participants will enter the post-run festival area where participants 21 and over will receive two Samuel Adams Boston, Winter Lagers or Angry Orchard Apple Cider as part of their registration. In addition, all participants receive a custom vintage knit hat and unlimited hot chocolate.
