Blue-cap tip to Adam Rubin for finding this one. Read carefully.
On whether adding a shortstop and another bat in the outfield will be priorities for the big-league club in the off-season:
“Right now, part of what we need to do is assess what we have. If you look at shortstop, (Wilmer) Flores has actually done a very nice job for us at shortstop. (Matt) Reynolds has played well at short, both here and at Triple-A. Den Dekker had an excellent season at Triple-A. So we’ve got to assess what we have before we start going out and canvasing the free-agent market. Free-agents aren’t always the solution.”
if those guys are doing a very nice job, then why haven’t i bought my playoff tickets yet?
Really, they haven’t been able to figure out that Matt den Dekker is a AAAA player? They are digging their own grave with the fans, but yet there are still a lot of morons who will go out and buy tickets to this trash. Blame yourselves for enabling this.
metspolice My 1st reaction was wait you haven’t assessed at this point? 2nd was yup he just praised Tejada and Flores while saying no to FA
metspolice I wouldn’t expect Sandy to say more than what he said about FA on Sept. 4.
