METS TO HOST CHOLESTEROL HEALTH AWARENESS NIGHT PRESENTED BY ASTRAZENECA ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 AT CITI FIELD

FLUSHING, N.Y., September 12, 2014 – The New York Mets today announced Cholesterol Health Awareness Night, presented by AstraZeneca, will take place on Monday, September 15 at Citi Field when the Mets host the Miami Marlins at 7:10 p.m.

The Mets and AstraZeneca are partnering together to offer free cholesterol screenings for adults 18 and older in honor of National Cholesterol Education Month. Mets Hall of Famer Ed Kranepool will be onsite to greet fans and encourage screenings, which will take place on the Mets Plaza 90 minutes prior to the game

High cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease and an estimated 31.9 million Americans have total cholesterol levels >240 mg/dL. Only 1 out of every 3 adults with high cholesterol has the condition under control. Since there are no signs or symptoms of high cholesterol, getting your cholesterol checked with a simple blood test is the only way to know if you have high cholesterol. It is important that cholesterol levels are kept within healthy limits.

Tickets are on sale for the September 15 Cholesterol Health Awareness Night by phone at (718) 507-TIXX, and in person at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda ticket windows.
