Winning Contestant to Appear in the SNY Booth
During a Live Mets Telecast

[New York, May 8, 2015] SNY – the television home of the New York Mets, Jets and all things NY sports– today announced the return of the network’s popular Kidcaster contest presented by New York’s 529 College Savings Program. The contest, which has brought viewers a handful of memorable moments since its inception in 2009, is open to children between the ages of 7 and 12 and requires those interested to submit a short essay highlighting “Why a fellow student brand new to baseball would enjoy watching a Mets game.” Ten contestants will be chosen to come to SNY’s street-level studio in Manhattan where they will be asked to read their essays in front of a panel of SNY judges. One winner will be chosen and join SNY’s critically acclaimed broadcast team – Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling – during a live Mets game.

In addition, the runner-up in the Kidcaster contest presented by New York’s 529 College Savings Program will appear in an episode of SNY’s Emmy Award winning Kids Clubhouse. Other consolation prizes include a VIP Family Experience to a 2015 Mets game as well as SNY prize packs. The contest runs through June 7, 2015.
