First of all, I do not want to hear a peep from anyone about how hard the travel is.
A chartered plane that got in late, but you get there hours back and can sleep three hours later than usual, is not a big deal. Sleep in, and show up for a 7pm Pacific game. Not a big task.
Sometimes people have to get up at 4am to fly to the West Coast to do a business meeting, and then the LA’ers want to go out to dinner. It’s a long day. It is survivable.
I hate the west coast swing. We lose our little community. Rhythms are off. I don’t get to see the ends of games. I will chase one hot game until all hours of the morning and go home empty handed. I hate it.
And then there are the Mets, historical suckers in the Pacific Time Zone. I don’t think this team is good at all and find it stunning they are a half game out, but this roster is pretty lame. Most years the West Coast exposes this. Will it happen this year too?
