And here it is..the two years later Justin Turner second guess

I mean, which of us didn’t know Justin Turner was an MVP Level player?  In a system where you had David Wright at third and a log-jam of Murphy/Flores/Herrera and even New Mazzilli at second, how could you not re-sign Justin Turner?

Sorry John, love the blog but can’t roll with you on this one.  If you saw this one coming you should be in Cooperstown today as a GM.

  1. Agreed. I like Turner, was surprised when we let him go, but never saw him as anything more than a bench player. John even sort of contradicts himself at the end, saying, “Turner clicked with Dodgers manager http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mattido01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-www.newyorkmetsreport.com. For whatever reason, Turner figured it out in Los Angeles and is batting third.” There’s a reason “he just needed a change of scenery” is a cliche. Sometimes that really is what people need. Tough to blame Sandy on this one.

  2. Quick P.S. Turner is from Long Beach, CA. Maybe he also just likes being back home?
