Man, I got a letter from the government that says that since I run a Mets related blog I am obligated to write about Mike Piazza. Apparently there is a law that says that all Mets related blogs have to write about the same things, usually inspired by seeing a tweet from Adam Rubin about said subject.
So consider this my official post about Mike Piazza may or may not make the Hall of Fame. He might. He might not.
Stand by for a post freaking out that Keith Hernandez remains unsigned even though there’s no freaking way he’s walking away from that gig with a new book to promote. After that I’ll update you on how many days until pitchers and catchers and I will randomly speculate about the 5th outfielder.
As for Piazza, while the guy played he was regularly called the greatest offensive catcher of ALL TIME. But the Hall has become a place that doesn’t honor the Hit King, the Home Run champ, the champ of the other home run record (oh wait, that’s the same guy), a guy with 350 wins and so on and so on so who really cares what a museum in nowhere upstate and a bunch of writers worrying about dress codes think.
