I come today not to kill the Mets. I think the sendoff was a cool idea, but from what I see on twitter was not the awesome experience fans had hoped for.
If you scroll down my twitter timeline @metspolice you will see many RTs from people who were there today (I was not).
From what I gather….
They got a LOT of people. That’s good.
The parking situation was a mess with long lines.
Some were frustrated because they had RSVP’d as asked, but feel the RSVP didn’t help in anyway and those who just showed up had equal chances at things.
It was cold.
Not enough bathrooms.
The ticket voucher line was long.
I don’t want to beat up on the Mets, especially since I was not there. However, this is the sort of thing the blog talks about, so I do want to discuss it. Start a thread below this post on Facebook and we can all talk about it there.
…oh, and hire Darren Meenan to be EVP Events already. The man can convince 1400 people to go to San Diego on their own for a t-shirt. Throw him a consultancy.
