First they made him king, then they made him pope and now they’ll bring the rope (Matt Harvey)

And now we get to the predicted-by-me-all-along part of the game where Matt Harvey loses the media.  I wrote on Monday that Matt needed to start talking to these guys, and today we have not one but two columns not Matt (cap tip Adam Rubin for pointing these out, I rarely look at the newspapers in 2016.)

First, in  Matt Harvey has demanded world’s attention, even in silence Joel Sherman asks if this would have been A Thing if the blood clot thing had happened to deGrom or Granderson.  Nope.

Joel even floats that people were asking what Really Happened.  Just throwing that out there.  I’ll throw out there that I have no idea where Matt was during the Lincoln Assassination.  Not saying he was there, I just don’t know where he was.

The media has stopped protecting you Matt.

Then, in Newsday, David Lennon writes about suits and parties and mentions that Matt was not good in his final three starts in the Spring. That’s the kind of stuff Fat Bloggers write about and then get told they are stupid and negative.  Now that’s the mainstream.

Matt got away with an awful off-field in September because of a good on-field October (well except for when he managed Game 5).  As soon as the fastball isn’t there the sharks are going to come for you Matt.  I hope the fastball is there tomorrow.

You can’t be flashy just when you want Matt.
