A fun day at the ballpark. A little cold, although I have been to far worse (and far better).
I entered through the LF gate, and didn’t have to deal with metal detectors with I find interesting because that seems inconsistent. Anyway I am happy to not be hassled since bad things can happen anywhere included 20 feet outside a stadium, but that;s a topic for another day.
The food staff was in full Day One mode. Had a nice young lady pour my friend and I two cups of foam (including one of the wrong beer).
We went on a food expedition which took a full half an hour. Long lines, poor selections (why can’t the upper deck Nathan’s stands sell hot dogs AND fries AND chicken. That combo exists at some stands. Silly.)
The Mets have added some nice new banners outside. They look good.

This pitcher has amazing stuff!
The car race might be THE WORST THING EVER. It is so so so so so so so lame and uncool and not New York. They also appear to be setting up Louie the Limo or whatever it is called to be the Teddy Roosevelt of Lame NYC Car Race. Mr. Limo couldn’t get his act together and comedy tried to happen but failed. Awful.
And how was your day at the ballpark?
