A quick note to acknowledge the passing of Gene Wilder.
Followers on twitter know I often get “the Wonka” up in the 9th and make it my sign-off when the Mets lose. In case you’re younger or don’t get the joke – there is a line in the Wonka movie where Gene says “you lose, you get nothing, good day sir.” It’s an appropriate way to sign off after a stupid annoying loss.
Some on twitter asked if I would drop it. I think I will keep it.
Ideally the Mets will keep it parked for ten days – all they need to do is keep winning.
