METS INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE CONCLUDES TODAY/TIM TEBOW
TO REPORT TO ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE ON SUNDAY
FLUSHING, N.Y., October 4, 2016 – The New York Mets today announced that the Mets Instructional league will conclude today following the declaration of a state of emergency by Florida Governor Rick Scott.
Mets outfielder Tim Tebow will report this Sunday to the Arizona Fall League and play for Scottsdale. Tom Goodwin will manage the club as soon as his responsibilities as first base coach for the Mets conclude.
“We want Tim to play in more games to continue developing his skills on the field while facing advanced competition,” said Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson.
“Working in the Instructional League has been a lot of fun and productive,” said Tebow. “We worked hard and I was able to see a lot of pitches and work on different things. There was great coaching and I tried to improve every day. I plan to use the Fall League as an opportunity to improve. It’s a blessing and a great opportunity.”
