My gut reaction Hall of Fame ballot – Clemens, Bonds, Sosa, Bagwell, Hoffman, Raines & more IN!

I know a Hall of Famer when I see one.  I don’t need WAR or nonsense to tell me what I see.

With that here’s my As I Type Gut Reaction to the HOF Ballot.

JEFF BAGWELL  – in.

CASEY BLAKE -no

BARRY BONDS – complete no brainer.  In.

PAT BURRELL – no

ORLANDO CABRERA – no

MIKE CAMERON – no

ROGER CLEMENS – yes

JD DREW – no

VLADIMIR GUERRERO – yes

CARLOS GUILLEN – no

TREVOR HOFFMAN – yes

JEFF KENT – no, but should be in the Hall of Garvey, where really good players land.

DEREK LEE – no

EDGAR MARTINEZ – yes. You play with stupid rules, he played by stupid rules.

FRED MCGRIFF – no.  First ballot Hall of Garvey.

MELVIN MORA – no

MIKE MUSSINA – hmm as time goes on very few will win as many games as he did, buy while he was playing I never thought he was a HOFer.  Hall of Garvey for Mike.

MAGGLIO ORDONEZ – no

JORGE POSADA – New York will prop him up but he’s Hall of Garvey.

TIM RAINES – in.  As a comparison, better player than Jorge Posada.

MANNY RAMIREZ  – in

EDGAR RENTERIA – no

ARTHUR RHODES – no

IVAN RODRIGUEZ – in

FREDDY SANCHEZ -no

CURT SCHILLING – hmmmm hey figure for two franchises but no vote from me this year.

GARY SHEFFIELD – Hall of Garvey

LEE SMITH – sure why not. In.

SAMMY SOSA – when NYC throws you a ticker tape parade (for some reason) you are a HOF. In.

MATT STAIRS – no

JASON VARITEK – no

BILLY WAGNER – no

TIM WAKEFIELD – no

LARRY WALKER – is there a Colorado Adjusted wing of the Hall of Garvey?  no.
