Oh I still get giddy thinking about this one. Tom Seaver came back!
I was there on April 5, 1983 when Seaver made that long stroll in along the RF stands. Tom gave us five solid innings, and The Franchise was back. Tom even hit a few triples early in the season and was briefly tied for the league lead with two!
Unfortunately, the Mets are gonna Mets, and they let the White Sox grab him after the season. Maddening. Hopefully Tom will come back in 1987.
