I was listening on the radio…and sure Granderson was shallow…and Josh or Wayne (I forget) tells me the HBP was unlucky (not sure how thats works) and I guess the Cardinals shouldn’t have hit that home run. But his change was good according to The Beat and it’s just spring and all that.
Wayne or Josh (I forget) also mentioned Tim Tebow might play in the Wednesday split squad and again on Friday! Oh my! Let’s see how that changes the current lack of media coverage – I wonder if ESPN/MLB might show up!
Speaking of the radio, as has been well discussed on @metspolice twitter, the levels on the MLB App for Mets games via WOR are atrocious, especially with the Todd Schnitt promos and other material.
I was listening on the actual radio yesterday and it’s a much better experience – however to my ear the imaging is still produced too loud. My guess is that the over the air feed is post-compression and what we’re getting on the internet is pre-compression, which is why the levels are all over the place. And whoever does the WOR imaging just makes everything Wall Of Sound so when you go from one element to the other, the station imaging and Todd Schnitt promos are jarringly loud. Anyway, nobody is going to fix it and the Mets (who read my blog) seemingly either powerless or unwilling to get their broadcast partner to fix the quality of Mets coverage.
If my friends the Mets say Cespedes isn’t hurt, then I’m sure he’s totally not out for four months.
Speaking of injuries. The Mets are reportedly interested in Brett Lawrie because David Wright is totally going to play this year. And by “interested” – I am also very interested in Evangeline Lilly. Will let you know how that goes. As Sandy Anderson says, it’s conceivable she has dinner with me tonight.
And speaking of injuries – anyone want to give me odds on Reyes coming back from the stupid WBC with a leg injury? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
