…and I dunno, I kind of made that scrunched up “this doesn’t feel right” face. Now after some tweets in my direction and some research I learned that the proceeds from all this Game Used stuff goes to the Mets Foundation (I’d love to learn and share more about the Mets Foundation if anyone has such info…like say the Mets…you know how to find me) so at least that’s good….
…but I feel like every last toothpick and blade of grass gets sold now and it just doesn’t feel right to my old man brain.
On the flip side, who is buying these things? (The answer is @mediagoon is buying all of these but let’s pretend he’s not) Is there some speculator who is going to put the away and make $40 profit on eBay in 10 years? Is it some deGrom fan who is really attached to a random complete game?
I know a few of you are big time collectors so talk to me, and again let me be crystal clear that I think it’s good this is going to the Mets Foundation and not just somebody’s pockets.
