Look, if you ask me, I could see the Mets being bullied into this by a local lawmaker. If you wanna dig deeper it could be “play along with this so we don’t piss off the city about the mall.” Who knows. Maybe the Mets want you safe from the scourge of foul balls. Except last homestead when they knowingly let people sit there despite the risk.
Your local PC newspaper reporter sits in the press box so we’ll see if this blocks their views or not before we find out if this was a good idea or not. I also can’t wait to see the TV angles in a few minutes.
